Job Responsibilities: Employee must pay attention to and remember instructions and procedures, and must notice required details amongst distractions. A major part of the job is observing the performance of several components and processes of the machine as well as the entire operation to detect, diagnose, and make adjustments while boxes are being made. Specific job duties include: Set-up rails, print, and die cut section on Flexo accurately and in accordance with proper setup techniques, monitor box quality throughout each production run, maximize the utilization of the equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speeds, train and assist other crew members and cross-train on other machines.

Skills and Abilities: Must possess sound Work Ethics and lead by example. Have the ability to read and comprehend various materials including standard operating procedures, OSHA and Packaging Logic safety procedures, reference manuals for operating, trouble shooting, and diagnosing specific machine problems. Work Environment:

Job Summary:

  • Use all manner of Metrology equipment to provide accurate dimensional inspections in support of engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Quantify and report inspection results to meet customer and internal requirements.  
  • Adherence to applicable quality standards, company policies and procedures, customer requirements, and safety initiatives is mandatory.  

Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilize CMMs, BlueLight scanners and other equipment to dimensionally inspect castings, patterns, gauges, and fixtures in order to assess their conformance to established specifications.  
  • Provide programming, database setup, and technical support for engineering and manufacturing requirements.  
  • Communicate the results of the inspection and its analysis to product engineer.  
  • Use discretion to schedule work flow based on priority and efficiency.  
  • Perform routine production inspections as required.  
  • Cooperate with peers by participating in an active cross-training environment.  
  • Adhere to applicable quality standards, company policies and procedures, customer requirements, and safety initiatives.  
  • Perform other duties as required  

Skills and Abilities:

  • PC DEMIS experience preferred  
  • Working knowledge of CMMs and their applications, including programming.  
  • Practiced familiarity with Layout Inspection procedures and results.  
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, instructions, and inspection requirements.  
  • Higher math skills, especially algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.  
  • Independent, self-motivated worker able to concentrate on difficult tasks for long periods of time or be multi-tasking.  
  • Computer fluency, including Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD / UG.  
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.  
  • Team-oriented attitude.  
  • Safety awareness  

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of CMM preferred or comparable metrology experience

  • Bachelors degree in management or technical field desired, not required.
  • 3 years supervision experience in union manufacturing environment
    Experience in coating/film technology, drying and winding techniques desired.
